Of course, it makes sense now. The green dot appears in the gap in the purple. Now, if you stare at a purple one and look away, you still see the imprinted "negative" of it, or the green. So, by staring at the purple ring, your being imprinted with the negative of it, or a green ring of dots. So, when a gap opens (the purple goes away) you see a green dot in it's place. The gap rotates, so the green dot rotates with it, filling in the gap in the purples. More looking and you get the green imprinted on top of the purple, with a net effect of cancelling each other out completely, so the purple dots get 'erased' by the green.. or visa versa.. it's easier to think than say.

how the hell does that happen? my guess is green is the opposite color of pink and like not staring directly at it makes it show the opposite color...? \

Yes, and it wouldn't work if it weren't on a computer screen. It works for the same reason that when you stare at your average light bulb then stare at a wall, it usually fades and you see a fuzzy blue imprint of it, average light bulbs give off white/yellow light, and we see it as a blue imprint...thing.
